We keep the inputs focused and show the assumptions behind the result.

Choose a tax year and province of residence, then enter annual, monthly, or hourly employment income.

2

Apply relevant rules

The estimate uses the selected official-source edition for federal, provincial, territorial, or Quebec calculations.

Review the breakdown

See estimated tax, statutory contributions, after-tax income, rates, and the rule edition used.

Designed for clarity

An employment-income estimate—not a tax return.

This calculator is deliberately focused. It helps you understand the annual impact of common employment taxes and contributions without asking for identifying information.

Read the calculation methodology

Included

  • Federal and provincial or Quebec income tax
  • CPP/CPP2 or QPP/QPP2 contributions
  • EI and QPIP where applicable
  • Supported deductions and provincial adjustments

Not included

  • Refunds, balances owing, or tax filing
  • Family, dependant, or marital credits
  • Investment or self-employment income
  • Individual legal, accounting, or tax advice

Transparent sources

Official publications, clearly identified.

Every available result names its rule edition and effective date. If a published package does not cover the selected year and jurisdiction, the calculator does not guess.

Common questions

A few things worth knowing.

For more detail, review our methodology and limitations.

Is this a tax return or refund calculator?

No. It is an annual employment-income estimate. It does not prepare a T1 return or calculate a refund or balance owing.

Which province should I select?

Select your province or territory of residence for the tax year. Payroll source deductions use province of employment and are a different calculation.

Is my income information stored?

Raw public calculator inputs are not retained by default. Minimal operational metadata may be kept for security, reliability, and rule-version traceability.

Why can this differ from my tax return?

A complete return can include family circumstances, refundable credits, other income, and deductions that this focused estimate does not collect.
